What A Mottly Crew!

Ian Brown - Director & Senior Instructor

Ian is a self-confessed off road and white water addict. You will find him on location every day, overseeing motorised and water based activities. Ian has more than 20 years experience in off-road driving and has competed in both trials and safari competitions. Ian is also self confessed Land Rover nut (he even learnt to drive in one) and is a qualified British Off Road Driving association Instructor and is responsible for all of our training for ATV, 4x4 and lone party worker courses . Ian is also a keen white water kayaker raft guide and canyoning guide so we forgive his Landrover fetish.

Andy Burton - Director & Senior Instructor

A highly experienced outdoor activity instructor, he holds qualifications across a broad range of activities and is the man you will find running most of our water activities.  Andy is a qualified white water raft guide, kayak instructor, swift water rescue technician, trail cycle leader, snowboard instructor and does fantastic Peter Kay impressions! You will normally find Andy running our canyoning, white water rafting , mountain biking and funyakking trips he also occasionally gets on a quad bike much to the amusement of Ian!

Angus Maclellan - Instructor

We found Angus or Gus as he likes to be called loitering around our local ski area where he was working as a snowboard Instrcutor. Gus now runs our quad biking trips, archery and paintball sessions and is a 2nd guide on our canyoning trips. This year Gus will also be developing his white water experience on our funyakking and white water rafting trips with a plan to do his raft guidis qualification in this Spring.

Jamie Maxwell - Trainee Instructor

Jamie first came to us on placement from Lochaber College on placement from the SVQ level 2 course in Outdoor Leadership & is now a full time student at Edinburgh University. Jamie returns to work with us during the sumerand you will find him running Archery, paintball, tomahawk throwing and quad biking sessions. Since joining the Highland Activities team Jamie has also been learning the ropes on our canyoning trips and has also been thrown down a few rivers in inflatable rubber boats. Jamie is a keen mountain biker and competes at national level.
