The Fort William area has to be the best place in the U.K. to come and experience white water rafting. The River Garry is a fantastic trip that runs at least once a week from April until October due to the release of water from the dam at the top of the river.

This release of water actually takes place to enable the salmon to return up river to spawn but it just happens to also make the river perfect for commercial white water rafting with grade 3 & 4 white water.

There is a massive ammount of water to play on in the area from some world class white water rivers, gentle rivers and lochs for open canoeing and touring and some of the most stunning sections of coastline in the country for sea kayaking.

Eating

The west coast of Scotland is a fantastic destination if you enjoy your food! With tasty local seafood, local game such as venison and there is also the renowned Angus steak! Fort Wiliam & Lochaber have some fantatsic restaurants and there are plenty of good pubs that serve bar meals up until around 9 p.m.
